Air Conditioning - Reverse Cycle Wall Splits

Wall mounted split systems are the most economical way of obtaining reverse cycle heating and cooling.

Installation prices here assume that the outdoor unit is to be located within five meters of the indoor unit.
Units of 5kw or more must be wired back to the power box, and prices mentioned here assume that the power box will be within 15 meters and will be easily accessible.

Wall mounted split systems are intended to be single room solutions.
Whilst air will flow to other areas, the air conditioner can not control what happens to the air.

When sizing the unit it is critical not to oversize.
If a unit that is too large is selected, it will turn off quickly, when it assumes that the set temperature has been reached (short cycle).
It will stay off for three minutes, and as the air leaves, the room will become uncomfortable.
The oversized unit will switch on with a vengeance, causing more discomfort as the cycle continues.

The longevity of your air conditioner will be drastically reduced in this situation.

INVERTER technology, whereby the compressor works at variable speeds, is more forgiving in that it will work down to 30% when the heat load is small (internal doors closed, moderate weather conditions), and up to 120% when the heat load is high (internal doors open, extreme weather conditions).
